“We have had a good experience so far with Southdale Peds. Our doctor is patient and complete. All the doctors we have seen have been great. I appreciate the nurse line when I have questions as a new mom and we have been able to get same day sick child appointments which eased my mind as a new mom.”

“Love the doctors and nurses here at Southdale Peds. In fact, I have recommended it to all my friends and about five more families are coming here. We moved to Plymouth but I'll keep coming here as long as I can!”

Southdale Pediatrics is pleased to announce that we have flu vaccine available for the 2011-2012 influenza season at all of our offices. We are now able to provide both Flumist ("the nasal spray") and injectable flu vaccine ("the flu shot").
Please note that we anticipate running out of Flumist sometime in November. By the time you come for your appointment, we may only have the injectable flu vaccine available.
Please note that Flumist ("the nasal spray") is not used for children under two years of age, for those with asthma, for those who have a tendency for wheezing episodes, for those who have received a live virus vaccine in the last one month (for example the MMR or the chicken pox vaccine), or for those with a variety of other chronic health conditions. Your pediatrician can advise you about these issues. These and additional restrictions for Flumist are listed on the consent form you will review before receiving the vaccine.
Appointments for flu vaccine may only be scheduled online. You will need to use our online scheduling system to see if any appointments are available. IF THE ONLINE SCHEDULING SYSTEM SHOWS NO DATES ARE AVAILABLE FOR AN APPOINTMENT OR IF THE SYSTEM DOES NOT ALLOW ACCESS TO APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING, THIS MEANS THAT NO APPOINTMENTS ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. Please use online scheduling, if possible, to cancel your appointment if you no longer need it, so vaccine can be made available to others. Please feel free to try again another time if you are unable to obtain the appointment you desire.
Southdale Pediatrics is also pleased to announce that this year we will be able to administer FLU VACCINE TO PARENTS. If you (as a parent) would like to receive your flu vaccine through Southdale Pediatrics, please preregister by calling 952-278-6940. Once pre-registered, you may schedule an appointment as usual through the online link below.
For the 2011 - 2012 flu season, the flu vaccine contains protection against the H1N1 influenza strain which appeared about two years ago as well as other likely influenza strains. A separate H1N1 vaccine is not necessary this season.
If a child under 9 years of age is being vaccinated for influenza, two doses of the vaccine are necessary for the first flu season they receive the vaccine. If a child under the age of 9 years did not receive at least one dose of the flu vaccine last season, two doses of flu vaccine will be required this season. Your pediatrician can advise you in unclear situations.
Online scheduling is currently only available for flu vaccines. If you wish to schedule an appointment for any other vaccine please call our future appointments number.
